Most hair oils that cater to Black hair are too heavy for my thin hair but this is perfect. My hair feels so smooth and for once I’m not breaking out from clogged pores due to heavy oil.

This is my second bottle of hair oil from shu uemura. It is the best!!! It isn't too heavy or too light. It smells wonderful too. Hands down the best

A Must Have for My Hair

My hair loves this oil. It totally disappears into the hair - I put two pumps in daily. I have colored and highlighted hair and my hair is so healthy. I also use one pump on damp hair as a leave-in before heat styling. I also love the scent; I cannot live without this.

Truly thee BEST!

This is truly the best hair product for smoothing and making your hair look all around luxurious! I have long, thick, hair with a medium curl and whether I wear my natural curls or blow them out, this oil smooths/reduces frizz, smells ah-mazing, and lengthens the amount of time I go between washes. A little goes a long way! I can usually make a 5oz bottle last around five months so that is comforting when I process the price tag. Also, I have tried multiple dupes listed online and I have come back to this product! Nothing compares!!!

If you have fine, dry hair, this is it!!!!

This hair oil is in my top 5 of all times! I have very fine, color-treated hair, and this product makes it beyond soft and combats the frizz pretty well! The shine it gives my hair is out of this world (without weighing it down) and the scent is just beautiful! Compared to the Kerastase hair oil, this is considerably lighter!

Excellent for dry hair, hands and nails

This is the best thing I’ve found for dry ends and especially color treated, dry hair. It absorbs very quickly and leaves hair shiny and healthier. I also use it as a pre-shampoo treatment, and on my hands and nails. It’s an excellent product.

Wow, it really blows olaplex 7 out of the water in terms of shine and softness. Keeps my blow outs looking fire for days. Coming from someone who has tried everything. This is a game changer

Lightweight, good for frizz, expensive

As a lightweight hair oil, the Essence Absolue is a good product, but you can get better at a lower price easily. I have fine frizzy hair, and I love how lightweight this oil is, it's hard finding products that don't weight my hair down. A little goes a long way to reduce frizz, but I haven't particularly noticed extra shine. It's so lightweight and it gets absorbed so well in my hair, I could literally drench my hair in it without getting greasy. For me it doesn't work as heat protectant, just as finisher to tame frizz and nourish my ends. If I could, I would only use fragrance free hair care... but for styling products is almost impossible. At least the Shu Uemura scent don't linger in my hair and is lightweight enough to not bother my nose when applying; it's a pleasant floral vanilla.

Holy Grail

I love this product. I will never be without it. I use it for everything. Great if skin or hair feels dry. I always carry a mini to the pool with me in the summer. I even use it to remove my makeup. Massage it in then wash my face like normal. No breakouts. I don't know what witchcraft is in this but I'll never be without. It's been years and still going strong. I can't recommend this enough. Just buy it and don't underestimate it.

LOVE this product, it makes my hair feel good. I use it after wash before blow drying and during the week for a nice shine.
